In professional Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) circles, the word bug isn’t typically used the way Hollywood might suggest. While films and TV shows love to dramatise “bug sweeping” operations, real security professionals prefer precise terminology.


In fact, in the world of cybersecurity, bug refers to a software flaw or attack rather than a hidden surveillance device.


However, since the general public often refers to covert listening and tracking devices as bugs, we decided to have a little fun with the idea.


Verrimus is proud to introduce our latest range of technical surveillance devices—each named after a common insect! It’s a tongue-in-cheek nod to the widespread (if somewhat inaccurate) use of the term.
